Creating impactful, socially and environmentally responsible events
Together, we aim to:
- reduce our environmental footprint
- support communities in their transition to a sustainable economy
- promote innovation
- embrace diversity and inclusion in all its dimensions
As part of the Easyfairs Group, we are members of the Net Zero Carbon Events pledge and commit to being net zero by 2050 and to halve our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
THE 6 main initiatieves
to achieve these objectives:
1.
Production & waste
We have implemented a strict waste management and waste reduction plan
- We sort all waste
- We put sorting bins at strategic locations
- We are committed to reducing plastic and paper waste
- We use recyclable plastic for our production needs
- We provide digital signage whenever possible
- We reuse printed banners, flags, and signs for future editions of Realty
- We use eco-friendly cleaning products
2.
Energy
The Gare Maritime is an energy-neutral building
- Renewable energy is generated on site: heat and cold are produced by geothermal energy, and solar panels generate electricity
- No fossil fuels are used for heating or cooling
- We limit our energy consumption by not only strictly controlling the heating, but also the lighting and HVAC levels during the buildup and dismantling of Realty
- We turn off electricity at night
- During event setup and teardown, we limit the temperature to 18°C
3.
Travel & accommodation
We’re aiming to reduce travel emissions
- Tour & Taxis provides:
- Electric vehicle charging stations
- A limited number of parking spots nearby exclusive for people with a disability
- We provide a shuttle service from the Brussels North Station and collaborate with TaxiVert, ensuring you can participate and return home with peace of mind
- We encourage visitors to come to Realty on foot, by bicycle, or by public transport
- We encourage exhibitors to carpool to Realty
