eSMART develops intelligent systems for building automation. Via a touchscreen in the living room or the smartphone app, building functions such as the video intercom, heating, lighting or blinds can be controlled. The touchscreen also displays the consumption of electricity, heating and hot water in real time, helping residents reduce their energy consumption and bill.
The spin-off of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne, founded in 2011, has developed a technology that does not require any additional wiring and can be easily and cost-effectively installed in buildings. The micromodules mounted directly behind the switches communicate via the existing power grid.
Last year, eSMART celebrated its 10th anniversary and is now the best-selling solution in Switzerland, with over 8,000 homes equipped and a further 2,100 homes in planning. Thanks to the ease of installation, major representatives of the Swiss construction industry as well as real estate investors are among eSMART’s customers.
