Transformation of an industrial site to a future-proof real-estate project by students of the School of Engineering (ULB): case study pharmaceutical site in Anderlecht.

Innovation Talk Room

The Brussels School of Engineering (ULB) with its BATir department organises the ‘Real Estate Design Project Competition’ every year. In 48 hours, more than 40 Architectural and Civil Engineering students from ULB and VUB (BRUFACE joint degrees in English), together with students in Architecture or Business Engineering from various institutions of the country, have to present a complete project for the transformation of an existing site into a future-proof real estate project. The three winning groups of this year’s competition will explain how they intend to transform a 1.2 hectare industrial site (a pharmaceutical laboratory) in the heart of Anderlecht and outline their vision for the future of real estate.
