Retail – Licence obtained for “The Dôme” project

An exceptionally well publicised project
has now materialised: the Brussels Region has finally issued the planning
permit for the mixed reassignment of the emblematic building located at the
corner of Place de la Bourse and Boulevard Anspach (formerly Actiris), in the
heart of the Brussels Pentagon. Baptised
The Dome
, it is supported by the Flemish development team VDD Project
Development
and Vervoordt Real Estate. By 2026 the planned
21,000 m² multifunctional urban complex will combine retail shops,
restaurants, offices and luxury flats, not far from another emblematic
conversion project along the pedestrianised city centre, that of the Bourse,
converted into a temple for Belgian beer. Work will begin in the first quarter
of 2023 and will last two to three years. The base of the building will
eventually house the Italian food chain Eataly, which will mark its
entry into the Belgian market. On the menu: 3,500 m² with food court, restaurants,
cafés, supermarket and even a culinary training centre. A Delhaize shop
will be set up on the corner of Anspach Boulevard and Marché aux Poulets, with
a new urban concept on the ground floor and a classic supermarket in the
basement, with a total area of 2,200 m².
