Anaïs Maes is a Deputy Mayor in Brussels, responsible for Urban Planning, Public Space, and Dutch-language Education and Affairs. She was born and raised in Brussels. She worked in local media (former Bruzz). She is a historian who conducted research and served as a guest professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. For more than a decade, she taught history and was a union representative at GO! Atheneum Etterbeek.
