Hans Smid is responsible for the strategy and business operations of the three parts of the Digital Energy division in Belgium and The Netherlands: Digital Building, Digital Power and Microgrids. Within Schneider Electric, we create Impact by empowering all to make the most of our energy and resources, bridging progress and sustainability. Our mission is to be the trusted partner in Sustainability and Efficiency. He is an experienced leader with 10+ years of leading diverse teams in the world of digitization of the building and electrical engineering industry and has a background in Business Administration and Engineering. Next to his position at Schneider Electric, Mr. Smid has just been re-elected as President of the European Building Automation Controls Association (eu.bac) for 3 more years (2024- 2027). Eu.bac is the voice of European manufacturers in the home/building automation sector. Our vision is a world where anyone lives in buildings that are smart, decarbonized and efficient.
